刺姿と花も美しいテロカクタス属のサボテンです。ツルツルした小さな山が集まったようなサボテンです。
テロカクタス属は、テキサス州～メキシコに20種ほどが原産します。
偏球形～球形の形が多く、花がきれいなサボテンです。
テロカクタスは、よく陽にあてます、日照が不足すると徒長します。
真夏の直射日光は、茶色く日焼けすることがあるので注意が必要です。また、寒さはある程度強い品種のサボテンです。
